Dr Mark Burden
Mark Burden is a postdoctoral researcher with particular interests in early-modern dissent, education, and literature. He has previously researched and taught at Queen Mary (University of London) and at the universities of Oxford, Portsmouth, Aix-Marseille, and Bristol. He has published a Biographical Dictionary of Tutors at the Dissenters’ Private Academies (2013), https://www.qmul.ac.uk/sed/religionandliterature/online-publications/a-biographical-dictionary/, as well as numerous articles on nonconformist education and dissenting church records. He played a leading role in the production of the online Cambridge Platonism Sourcebook (2019-), http://www.cambridge-platonism.divinity.cam.ac.uk/, and was an assistant editor for the second volume of the OUP Works of Lucy Hutchinson (2018). He is an editor of Dissenting Academies Online and assistant editor for the forthcoming CUP History of the Dissenting Academies in the British Isles.
