Richard Baxter Update

The Dr Williams’s Trust owns a prestigious body of manuscript material from the celebrated
non-Conformist leader and theologian Richard Baxter (1615-91). To that end the Trust
supports the Baxter Association.

The Association aims to bring together scholars from around the globe who have an
interest in Richard Baxter and/or his world. Currently facilitated by Alison Searle, Neil
Keeble, and Tim Cooper, the Association exists with minimal infrastructure, no formal
membership, and only two online meetings each year (in early April and early September).
The main goal is to make connections and open up conversations that can take place any
time throughout the year.

Please let Prof Cooper know by Sunday 7 September if you would like to make a
presentation. This can be anything from a five-minute update through to a 15-minute
presentation (followed by questions) through to a themed round table. The focus doesn’t
have to be on Baxter himself – the association is interested in both the man and his world –
and warmly encourages presentations from PhD students on their project.
