Emeritus Professor Clyde Binfield
Clyde Binfield is Emeritus Professor in History at the University of Sheffield. His publications have concentrated on nonconformist history, in particular its social, cultural, and political contexts, from the late eighteenth century to the mid twentieth century. He edited the Journal of the United Reformed Church History Society, first as co-editor 1976-85, then as editor until 2012. He has contributed to edited volumes, journals, and occasional publications, most recently 'Garden City Religion: The Free Churches of Letchworth and Welwyn', Building the Church: The Chapels Society Journal (2016). He has a particular interest in nonconformist architecture.
